Learn from The Best about Nutrition and Exercise

Nancy Clark, RDOne of the experts that I rely on the most for information about sports nutrition is Nancy Clark, RD. I own her books, Nancy Clark’s Sports Nutrition Guidebook and Nancy Clark’s Food Guide For Marathoners: Tips for Everyday Champions.

I met Nancy at the 2010 Boston Marathon Expo and had the chance to ask her a few questions.  She was very helpful and her one-page handout on carbohydrate loading for the marathon was excellent.  One of the things that I like about Nancy is that her recommendations are always practical and are based on solid research, not the latest sports nutrition fads.

Now, you can learn more about sports nutrition and exercise from the experts. Nancy Clark, RD, and Bill Evans, PhD, have scheduled a series of 1 1/2 day workshops at locations around the U.S.  Bill Evans is an Adjunct Professor at Duke University Medical Center, is well known for his research on protein, muscles, and aging.

These 10-hour Sports Nutrition Workshops provide information on the following topics:

  • Nutrition for Exercise & Sports
  • Dieting, Weight & Exercise
  • Dieting Gone Awry
  • Exercise and Aging
  • Protein Metabolism and Exercise
  • Ergogenic Aids
  • Exercise, Diet and Weight Control

Here’s the link to the full agenda for the workshop.

If you are a healthcare professional, you can get continuing education credit for completing the workshop.

Here are the locations for the workshops:

  • Salt Lake City - Oct 28-29, 2011
  • Seattle - Nov 4-5, 2011
  • Los Angeles - Jan 27-28, 2012
  • San Francisco - Feb 10-11, 2012
  • Phoenix - March 2-3, 2012

The workshop costs $299 for both days and $135 for one day (choose between Nancy Clark or Bill Evans).  The cost for full-time students is $134 for both days.

If you can’t make it to these locations, you can also do the workshop on-line from home.  The full Sports Nutrition Workshop is available for on-line study for $199, if you want continuing education credit, and $99 if you don’t need the continuing education units.  Click this link for more information.

Have you attended one of Nancy Clark’s lectures or workshops in the past? What did you learn? Where do you get your information on sport nutrition? Tell me in the comments.
