Holiday Gift Ideas for Runners - Stocking Stuffers

Here are a few inexpensive items that the runner in your life might enjoy in their stocking this year.

GU Peppermint Stick Energy GelGels

A selection of energy gels from PowerBar, CLIF, or GU are always welcome. If they don’t have a favorite brand, check to see what brand of gel is being offered on the course of their next marathon and get that one.  GU even has some holiday flavors available. You can choose between Peppermint Stick and Mint Chocolate

Chews

If your runner prefers something a little more substantial during their runs, CLIF SHOT BLOKS are available in a new Citrus flavor, while PowerBar Energy Gel Blasts are now available in Cola and Lemon flavors.

Gatorade has also introduced some new G Series Pro 01 Prime Carb Energy Chews in Orange and Fruit Punch flavors. Watch for these to appear on the shelves of your specialty sports retail stores soon.

Energy Bars

Peppermint StickThis year CLIF BAR has added Peppermint Stick to its holiday flavors. Perennial favorites Spiced Pumpkin Pie and Iced Gingerbread are also available. CLIF BAR is donating 1% of the net sales of these seasonal flavors to the Winter Wildlands Alliance, an non-profit organization that works on behalf of skiers, snowboarders, winter hikers, and other outdoor adventurers to address national issues that impact our winter wildlands.

Electrolyte Tablets

Nuun Tablets

Nuun (pronounced “noon”) electrolyte tablets dissolve in water and provide the electrolytes needed for long runs, especially in hot weather. They come in several flavors, including Banana, Grape, Lemon+Lime, Tri-Berry, Citrus Fruit, Kona Cola, Tropical, Fruit Punch, Lemon Tea, Orange, and Strawberry Lemonade.

Disclaimer: I have received samples of CLIF BARS, CLIF SHOTS, and CLIF SHOT BLOKS for evaluation. They were very tasty.
