Book Review - My Life on the Run by Bart Yasso

My Life on the RunBart Yasso, Runner’s World Magazine’s Chief Running Officer, recently wrote an autobiography titled My LIfe on the Run, describing his journey from a self-described “alcoholic and dope head” in his youth to being inducted into the Running USA Hall of Champions.

Along the way, he has personally run in over 1,000 races and worked with Runner’s World to sponsor over 7,000 races, helping to foster the explosive growth of running in the U.S. and around the world.

My LIfe on the Run offers humorous stories of Bart’s adventures around the globe, from Antarctica to Africa to running the Badwater 146 through Death Valley. It describes Bart’s struggles with chronic Lyme disease, which has curtailed his running in recent years.  The book also provides a list of runners who have inspired Bart and a list of 25 “Must Do” races

Bart is also well known for his development of a widely-used marathon training workout known as Yasso 800’s. My LIfe on the Run includes training plans for 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and the Marathon.

My LIfe on the Run is an entertaining read for runners, especially readers of Runner’s World who have enjoyed Bart’s stories over the years.
