If you are staying at Kimpton’s Ink48 hotel in New York City and you have forgotten your running gear, the hotel has a “Forgot It, We’ve Got It – Runner’s Edition” amenity kit, including:
- A map of Hudson River running path
- Pre-loaded iPod Shuffle with headphones
- Athletic sports watch
- Running belt with water bottles from hotel
- Energy bar and sports drink in room upon return
The Ink48 hotel is located at the corner of 11th Avenue and 48th Street in New York, one block east of the Hudson River Greenway, which runs for 11 miles from Battery Park at the southern tip of Manhattan north to the George Washington Bridge. The hotel takes its name from a former printing house at that location.
If you’d prefer to ride a bike, rather than run, Ink48 also has free loaner bikes available from June-October, and provides helmets, locks, and bottled water along with them.
If it’s late or the weather isn’t cooperating, you can always use Ink48’s well-equipped fitness center, which is open 24 hours a day.
If you’re thirsty after all that exercise, you can clean up and go to Ink48’s rooftop bar, The Press Lounge (see photo above). New York Times’ critic Frank Bruni, called The Press Lounge “without question, one of the city’s most attractive rooftop bars”. New York Magazine recognized it as New York’s “Top New Rooftop Bar” and ABC News.com rated it as one of the top 22 rooftops in the world.
