What’s Your Metabolic Age?
Some of the newer body fat scales now provide you with a readout that includes your metabolic age.
Your metabolic age is calculated by comparing your Basal Metabolic Rate with the average Basal Metabolic Rate of your chronological age group. A metabolic age less than your chronological age generally means that you are fitter than the average.
If you don’t have one of these scales, you can still calculate your metabolic age, using the calculator at the following link:
I used this calculator to find my metabolic age. It came out to be the same as my chronological age. I tried plugging in some lower weights and the calculator indicated that if I lost 10-20 lbs, my metabolic age would be 1-4 years less than my chronological age. The more weight I lose, the “younger” my metabolic age.
What is your metabolic age and how does it compare to your chronological age? Tell me in the comments.
