Sweat a Lot? You May Need Electrolytes!
I sweat a lot when I run and sometimes I don’t want to drink Gatorade or another carbohydrate-filled electrolyte solution.
Sometimes, I’m heading out for a long run and I don’t want to risk an upset stomach by drinking Gatorade before I start. Sometimes, I’m purposely trying to run in a glycogen-depleted state to improve my body’s ability to burn fat.
I still need to replace the electrolytes I’m losing in my sweat, so I use Nuun (pronounced “noon”) electrolyte tablets. You dissolve the Nuun tablets in water and drink it to replace your electrolytes. Nuun tablets contain no carbohydrates. They come in six flavors.
Here’s a breakdown of the active ingredients in Nuun tablets:
Sodium (carbonates) 360.0 mg
Potassium (bicarbonate) 100.0 mg
Calcium (carbonate) 12.5 mg
Magnesium (sulfate) 25.0 mg
Vitamin C 37.5 mg
Vitamin B2 500 mcg
What do you to replace your electrolytes? Tell me in the comments.
