What are Your Goals for the Boston Marathon?
It’s important to have more than one goal for a race, especially one like a marathon. Here are my goals for Monday’s Boston Marathon, in priority order:
- Don’t die (although the risk of dying in a marathon is very low, it does happen)
- Don’t get hurt and don’t end up in Boston’s very well-equipped Medical Tent
- Finish the race
- Run the whole distance
- Run the race in under 3:30:59 (Boston Qualifying Time for my age group)
- Run a PR (under 3:29:08)
- Run under the USATF Masters All American Standard for my age group (3:25:47)
Most importantly, I want to have fun and enjoy the experience.
Are you running Boston on Monday? What are your goals? Tell me in the comments.
