Racing on a Hot Day? Try a Pre-Race Gatorade Slushie!
Recent studies have shown that racing while dehydrated can result in slower race times and that consuming a slushie before a race can increase your endurance.
I figured that I could kill two birds with one stone by making a Gatorade Slushie. Regular slushies are too sugary to be absorbed efficiently.
Here’s my recipe:
Gatorade Slushie
1/2 scoop Gatorade Drink Powder
8 oz Cold Water
8 Ice Cubes
Put ice cubes in a blender. Dissolve the Gatorade Drink Powder in the water. Pour the mixture over the ice cubes. Blend until smooth. Drink immediately. Watch out for “brain freeze”.
Have you tried slushies before a race? Does a different recipe work for you? Tell me in the comments.
