Would Your Shoes Benefit from a Sof Sole Fit Insole?
When I get a new pair of shoes, I usually throw out the insert that comes with them. They tend to be thin pieces of foam that offer little or no cushioning and very little structural support. In the past, I’ve usually swapped them out for a pair of Green Superfeet Insoles. Recently, I had a chance to try the new Sof Sole Fit Insoles.
Sof Sole Fit Insoles offer:
- Durable, Anatomical Nylon Base Plate
- Firm EVA foam in the heel and arch
- Softer EVA foam in the forefoot
- Engineered arch heights at 2.8 cm, 3.0 cm, and 3.3 cm
- Abrasion-resistant, antimicrobial mesh cover to help prevent odor
Compared to the Green Superfeet insoles that I usually use, the Sof Sole Fit Insoles are more rigid and supportive and are a closer fit to the shape of my foot. The also seem to provide slightly more padding.
You can determine what type of Sof Sole Fit Insoles is right for you by visiting your local stores that carry Sof Sole, such as Eastern Mountain Sports, Sports Authority, and Olympia Sports. They have a Fit ID Pad which takes a thermal impression of the foot to help determine the arch type that is right for you.
If you can’t get to one of these stores, you can use the “paper bag” test to determine your arch type as shown in the video embedded below.
What type of insoles do you use in your shoes? How do they help your running? Tell me in the comments.
Disclaimer: I received a pair of Sof Sole Fit Insoles for evaluation.
